This route loops around Ortoaia village, starting from its north-eastern side on a path that crosses several meadows and hay fields on a gentle climb. The route then joins a forest road that skirts Corhana peak, where the climb gets a little harder.
Once past the peak, you can enjoy a remarkable view opening towards Vatra Dornei.
Next comes a smooth stretch of forest road, after which the road starts to climb gently. From the highest point of the route (1,117 m) the descent begins, fairly steep for the first 2 km, with a drop of 278 metres. After the descent, the route joins the asphalt road “Pârâul Ortoii” and continues back to the starting point.
The first part of the route is known for visits from hinds, red deer and roe deer, and if you are lucky you will get to see them.
The route crosses pastures and hay fields that are usually fenced. You get through by gates or wooden latches. Please don’t leave them open, as the locals can lose their animals because of it.
Please also respect the places you pass through and leave nothing behind.
